Nay'indaba Logo design process

The client here needed something that would reflect its homeground which is Africa. They wanted there to be a warmth and earthiness in the brand's visual language- like autumn colours. This was important to note, as Nay'inaba is community-based.

In our discovery session, we uncovered the possibility of looking to nature to make an asociation with warmth, compassion and groundedness. We looked specifally at the African landscape for textures that would inform any symbol we might incorporate to the logo.

We came to this: autumn season and the colours we see in this time and African print that resembles tree bark.

The hot African sun at sunset, for any symbolism that could be incorporated. A monogram seemed more useful and a better option at this stage, with all the imagery already involved in the possible makeup of the design.

And here it is. this monogram with its variations . What is great is that the logotype  (letterheads, some call it) resemmbles the mongramand thus ties everything together well.
